Liberalism, atheism, male sexual exclusivity linked to IQ?

"Evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa at the the London School of Economics and Political Science correlated data on these behaviors with IQ from a large national U.S. sample and found that, on average, people who identified as liberal and atheist had higher IQs. This applied also to sexual exclusivity in men, but not in women."

So………is anyone actually surprised?

  1. A Modest Proposal

I had heard of other studies supporting the former two (correlatively, of course), but not the latter. That is actually something I did not expect.

  2. Mr. Clean (Dirty)

But we already knew that, right?

  3. I’m sure it’s as uplifting to liberals and atheists as it is upsetting to theists and conservatives. But I myself would like to know more about how they measured the IQ of the participants.

  4. Prometheus Unbound

Yes about the sexual exclusivity part at least.

  5. Maranatha!

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose

  6. Carbon 14

Nope, It has been done before, in the ARIS, and IQ by state research.

  7. MrzBoopie

Wow, an evolutionary psychologist with an agenda.. no i am not suprised.

  8. Born again Atheist, think about

We have know this for a long time.

  9. And Christians get blamed for cherry picking…

    LOL!

More made up stats and showing manipulated data.

Too small of a sample group too. Totally invalid from anyone who understands statistics.

Highway you are desperately smearing. "Why am I not surprised?"

The only one that surprises me is male sexual exclusivity

  12. That is offensive, as the same people that say that also say that whites are smarter than blacks

  13. Stephen Hawking would be laughing at you right now if he could. He is a christian. Same with Francis Collins, triple doctorate. They are so inferior to you who sits on your computer day in and out, trashing religion.

    No

Unfortunately for liberal men, most of them are pansies, the fact that many of them are intelligent is beside the point. Pansies don’t have as many chances to procreate )get laid) so they keep what they get, even if it is a cheatingass liberal floozie wife.

I am an Atheist, but I am unencumbered by liberalism, or pansiness and I have had two wives. I never did cheat on them, but I have never had a problem getting laid

It is a well known fact that women cannot control their own sexuality, they need someone else to do it (this goes for both proactive and passive female sexual impulses – they simply cannot control it).

  17. princejohn

    No because Liberals actually read.

  18. Sans Culture

Did not expect the third, quite honestly. But hey I’m the first two, so look up to my evolutionary superiority.

  19. little birdy

    No surprise there really.
But I do think it is wise to avoid blanket assumptions.
IQ is rather subjective and culturally biased.
I still think in the majority of cases though, this would hold true.

  20. i guess we actually use our brain instead of following what other people tell us blindly.

to the guy that said the sample was too small: not true. i suggest you brush up on your statistics.

  21. hillbilly

How many subjects, how were they classified, etc? To be meaningful, it should be a random sampling from a very wide distribution of several thousand subjects. I read the study and don’t put much reliance into it as the normal variance in IQ is standard of 10 points either way anyhow. Good luck.

  22. The most amazing thing here is that every single rebuttal offered above shows a complete lack of willingness to accept evidence. Most of them want to make peer reviewed science into a purely political function. Not only does that ignore the fact that scientists make their living by refuting one another, but it also indicates a perspective that every claim is just political. I wonder, then, what is their political motivation for criticizing the study?
