Instructions

- When choosing spermicidal lubricants, choose according to your own preference. Oil based lubricants are soft and pleasurable but they often cause stains on bed sheets and clothes and become quite messy during and after use. Water based lubes on the other hand are easy to clean and wash and can be revitalized by putting water on them in case they have dried.
- If you plan to use spermicidal lubes along with condoms then do not go for the oil based lubes since they do not agree with the latex condoms.
- It is advisable to use spermicidal lubes with some other prevention and protection method since lubes have a high failure rate.
- Try to get a hold of some samples before making your choice of the lubricant for you.
- Make sure that you are not allergic to the N-9 chemical that is present in spermicidal lubes.
- You can experiment with different flavoured lubes but remember to make sure that they are favourable for use with condoms. Lubes containing sugar are unfavourable for use with condoms.
- There are also other available lubricating methods which you can use. For example, spermicidal jellies which are available for using along with condoms and are favourable to both vaginal and anal sex can be a good option for you in case you are unable to make a decision with the spermicidal lubes.

Warnings and tips

If you are going to use a condom along with the lubricant then you should never use an oil based condom since the oil based products cause the latex to break down and leave you open to sexually transmittable diseases and pregnancy. Some condoms already contain spermicidal lubes and you might want to go for such condoms.
