Astroglide is a lubricant that has been designed from space age materials. It is a sort of manmade lubricant with similar effects to natural lubrication. The difference between Astroglide and other similar products in the market is that it is able to retain its wet and slippery feeling and does not turn sticky.
Astroglide is a lubricant that is water based and is non-toxic. Unlike many unsafe products, it does not contain silicon or any ingredient that is derived from animals. Although it does contain glycerine which is rumoured to cause yeast infections, no official research has been able to prove that.
Spermicide is used as a pregnancy deterring product but using it along with lubricants like Astroglide reduces its efficiency. So therefore never rely on a spermicide as your only protection from pregnancy when you are also using a lubricant.
Astroglide does not prevent pregnancy but it is known to slow down the rate of speed in which sperm travel. Therefore as a safety measure never use it when you plan to get pregnant.
It is not known to cause infection as it is devoid of any color and fragnance.
