How do you increase male sexual desire?
In the last year my desire for sex has went down to 0%. I am 51 years of age and in excellent health. I have had physicals showing nothing but occasional high cholesterol. My wife and I have been married for 25 years and we have had a normal sex life until now. She is worried and thinks it may be that I am not attracted to her any more, which is definitely not the case. Then she even asked if I might be seeing someone on the side, which again is not the case. I know about the new wonder drugs like Viagra, but getting an erection is not the problem. I just have lost the desire for sex and even when sensual woman are around that old exciting feeling is gone. My question is, are there any supplements that really work to increase male enhancement? Is there any one out there that has gone through this themselves?? Any feedback would be deeply appreciated!!

check your diet – reduce fatty foods.
Your problem is a common one for men over 50. Your testosterone is most likely on the low side or below normal. You need to go to a Urologist or Endocrinologist and explain your problem to him and tell him you would like to have your testosterone level checked. I did this and mine was 260 when the low level was 300 and that was low enough to cause the same problem. I started taking injections of testosterone once every 3 weeks but later cut it down to once every two weeks. My level now is about the same as for a 25 y/o man or around 500-550. They also have a Gel now but it’s not as strong or as effective as the injections.
P.S. None of those over the counter supplements mentioned will work, they’re all snake oil and will only give a placebo effect, go see a MD. Been there – done that!!
Please go back to your doctor and have your thyroid retested to see if it is getting sluggish . At your age the problem is often secondary to a normal total serum testosterone with a larger portion of the testosterone bound to serum proteins, thus making it less available to your body. This makes your libido go down the tubes. An accurate way to detect this is to have a bio-available testosterone level determined. You can receive testosterone supplements if the tests bear out the fact that you have a relative deficiency.
Supplementing our diet with extra Zinc is helpful. Also getting to the gym for some with lifting exercises or resistance exercises helps to boost bio-available testosterone levels.
What you describe is a normal part of ageing but here is evidence available now suggesting that men would be healthier if given supplemental male hormone. If you do not have a prostate cancer, this would be perfectly safe and would not predispose you to prostate cancer as was previously thought.
Are you taking anti-depressants such as Paxil or Prozac? They can wipe out your libido, too
Dang, I wish I had the problem. Too much desire.
