Need information about adult male circumcision?
I am 39 and have always had pain with sexual intercouse (to the extent that I avoid it as often as possible). I know part of this issue is psycological as I have always been embarrassed by my penis, but there is also a pain isuue (not with pulling back foreskin or urination, but with sexual intercourse). Usually I slip a condom on with the foreskin covering my penis, and while that helps, sex is still not pleasurable.
Would like information about the procedure, healing time, etc from someone who has had the procedure as an adult. Cost isn’t a problem as I am in a VA hospital.
Any yes I do intend to talk to a mental health professional about the psycological aspect of my "feeling" as well. Thank you.
I have tried the ky the pain isn’t associated with friction because during masturbation if I pull back too hard myself there is pain. I don’t know if th eprocedure will help, but it couldn’t be worse. My penis is supper sensitive.

I wonder why you should be embarrased by a perfectly normal, intact penis – designed the way nature intended?
Anyway, I digress.
I presume that your problem is caused by the tightness of the foreskin?
Use baby oil, Vaseline intensive care hand and body lotion, Nivea or any bland cream as a lubricant. Pull the foreskin forward away from the body several times then pull it back and hold it in the stretched position for several minutes twice daily. When the hole is large enough insert your thumb , or smaller finger if necessary, into the foreskin and grip the glans ( the head of the penis) between finger and thumb. Roll the foreskin over the thumb until the tight ring is white with stretching. Hold it in this position as long as you can at a time – say 5 minutes. . Repeat as often as you have the time and enthusiasm for. If later you find there is room for two or more fingers then use them. If time permits even better results may be possible if you soak your penis in warm water for some minutes before you start to stretch.
If you apply yourself diligently, you should see a vast improvement within a month.
Circumcision should be the absolute LAST call. Don’t do it. There is virtually NO medical condition which cannot be sorted out without resorting to circumcision.
This is a super simple and short procedure especially in your case because it sounds like you have no stenosis or adhesions so thats a plus.
I’ve assisted in this procedure many times.
The doctor has always told me that the pain is minimal and meds are given afterwards.
Healing time is short about 4 weeks maybe less. We’ve usually dealt with older patients that could be why.
However have you tried slipping the condom on with the skin pulled back?
hi there…. what you actually need to do is use a little ky jelly. This will lubricate the glands penis and allow the forskin to slide back ( for want of a better phrase) . Thus lessening the pain..
If you have no pain when pulling back the forskin then i believe that the pain during intercourse is from lack of lubrication… Is your partner … ecited to the point of producing natures own lubricant …. if not then when you have intercourse you are creating friction hence pain in the penis….
Psychologically i dont believe youhave a great problem .. and with only a little help you will get over the problem..
Have you discussed this with your partner… if so then go with the lubricant before you consider surgery…
As a n uncut guy myself I dont think that getting the cut would help you. If anything it would make things worse because the head/glans would always be rubbing on your underwear and would hurts lots. You should see a doctor because there may be a problem there that they can help you with. just dont let them talk you into getting circumcised. remember once it is gone you cant get it back
It will help u to relieve ur pain.
well let me tell you some things about circumcision
1) based on the latest studies, as long as the male is able to keep his penis clean, especially around the glans and under the foreskin, there is really no health benefits with circumcision (the myths about it preventing cancer and recurrent UTIs are false)
2)there is a psychological benefit to having a circumcision (since a lot of societies regard circumcision as a required male rite of passage)
3) there are some medical benefits to circumcision in special cases. the pain you may be experiencing during sexual intercourse or masturbation may be related to a condition known as PHIMOSIS which is a small opening of the foreskin which prevents the foreskin from being retracted over the glans penis; any forceful retraction of the foreskin will cause pain because of the tight opening of the foreskin; in several cases the phimotic opening of the foreskjin can actually strangle the glans of the penis
4) if done properly IT IS NOT PAINFUL!!!!
based on the circumcisions i have done on adults, it can usually heal in about 7 days (if you use chromic catgut sutures) or 4-5 days if cautery is used. you can actually go back to work after the procedure. it just entails routine wound care with povidone iodine and preventing urine or semen from contaminating the wound. you can also take oral antibiotics to keep the wound clean and prevent infection as it heals.
a local anesthesia can be used for the procedure (either as a direct intradermal anesthesia using lidocaine or a pudendal nerve block using lidocaine). the surgeon who will do it would assess which method would be better for you since the pudendal nerve block, although painful to administer at first, has a better anesthetic coverage.
I was cut short at birth which caused me painful erections while going through puberty which resulted in psycological erectile dysfunction. For theropy I learned manual foreskin restoration techniques off the Internet and have grown about 5inches of new shaft skin, not the same as the natural. You can stretch out your shaft skin and foreskin to releave tension by daily pulling for periods of comfort at leasure. Try that for a month. Don’t let anyone talk you into severing nerves and muscle tissue by circumcising, especialy at the point where the frenulum delta nerves meets the glans.
